The Return of the Wych

Hello at long last and again, my selkies! It's been too long that I've been gone from this space and I wanted to take some time to share my journey from then until now with you.

Many of you likely saw my video this winter just past, the one in which I told you that I had been diagnosed with cancer and would be undergoing a double mastectomy; but also using that time to build out The Sea Wych Salem's space at Derby Square.

Because my approach to the whole diagnosis and surgery could be boiled down to, "I do not have time for this sh*t right now," the universe saw fit to ensure that the healing process took it's sweet time. Where I thought I should be good to go after four, maybe six weeks, the universe just laughed and laughed. Truthfully, I am still not at 100%. I tire quite easily, and so right now, the shop hours are reflecting my slow return to normal.

Nevertheless, the journey has been bright. I turned 50 on St. Patrick's Day, my partner of nearly 12 years asked me to marry him, and I am finally, finally, leaving my "day job" (yes, I work another full-time job to pay the bills) and putting all of my energy into The Sea Wych Salem.

But let's talk about the shop, shall we? Because Salem is a gift that keeps on giving (and I mean that in the best way), the buildout went beautifully. We set up our drop-in, DIY (Sea) Spell Jar Bar and have already guided a few people through the process! Our psychic reading nook is cosy and quiet, and our sea witch ball workshop station (book online!) is set up and ready for you.

We also have a ton of new inventory, an expanded tarot and oracle section, and we are lookin forward to channeling the magic of April and spring into everything we do. The inventory will be loaded to our online shop here within the next week, and we'll be adding more events, classes, and witch ball workshop dates to the calendar as well.

In addition to all that, our friend, The Salem Plant Witch is expanding her space, and we're welcoming The Witch's Gate (online presence coming soon!) into our beautiful building too. The Shops at One Derby are coming together and we'll have more to share on that as the season goes on.

Right now, I'm only back to the shop on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays - but anticipate being back to normal hours (Thursday through Monday) by the beginning of May at the latest. To make up for that, I am offering some workshops on Fridays and Mondays, and of course, I offer virtual readings for anyone interested.

Finally, and most importantly, thank you. Thank you for being patient, for your endless support, your messages, and your love. Thank you for motivating me to keep going, and to keep expanding this space as not just a shop, but a small community gathering space. Love to you all...
